Thandai – the cool energy drink for summer!

Most of our summer holidays in childhood were spent at either of our Grandma’s house in the village. My maternal granny was an excellent cook and she would feed us lots of home made sweets and pakvaans. While my father’s mother believed in simple food and lots of fruits of the season – melon, water melon, mangoes etc. But one thing was common in both the households – Thandai in the afternoon!

During summer, evening tea is replaced by Thandai in most of the households in villages because it’s nutritious and helps you beat the heat! I love Thandai and so I introduced it to my kids. Readymade thandai powder is available in the market, but I prefer to make my own from the best of the ingredients. Sharing recipe with you all who believe in good quality food for mind, body and soul….!
